What we authenticate
Japanese collectibles are becoming a serious asset class. No formal authentication has ever existed for this category. Rinkya is building it.
Rinkya has operated in Japan since 2001, building relationships with dealers, collectors, studio professionals, mangaka, manufacturers, hobbyists, brands, and specialists across every category we cover. Each item we accept is assessed against the specific evidence standards for its category.
The least documented and most forged category in Japanese collectibles. Our team has direct familiarity with production materials, studio documentation, and cel authentication across decades of output.
Grading standards →Explosive global auction growth, almost no verification infrastructure. Our specialists assess provenance, label authenticity, and capsule integrity across vintage and limited releases from Japan and beyond.
From postwar tin toys to modern limited editions. Our team covers manufacturer identification, packaging authentication, and secondary market history.
First editions, signed works, and rare print runs. Our specialists work directly in the rare books and manga trade, covering print methods, paper dating, and publisher records.
Materials analysis, construction standards, maker verification, and provenance documentation for Japanese craft and high-end goods.
Significant collector interest, limited authentication expertise. Our team covers model identification, component originality, and condition assessment for investment-grade instruments.
Who does the authenticating
Our committee draws on a network built over 24 years inside Japan's collectibles market. Members include active dealers, longtime collectors, studio professionals, and category specialists who work in these fields every day. Most prefer to remain anonymous.
Authentication is an expert opinion based on the evidence available at the time. We document everything: what was examined, how, and what conclusion was reached. That record is permanent and public.
Beyond the Assessment
We've handled rare, fragile, and high-value Japanese goods for over two decades. Every item is packed to archival standards from the moment it arrives.
We're building out materials testing capabilities for scientific-level verification: UV imaging, microscopy, and physical analysis tools.
In Japan since 2001. Direct access to dealer networks, auction houses, and specialist communities that aren't reachable from outside the country.
