The authentication infrastructure Japanese collectibles never had.

Before you ship, smell the cel.

A strong vinegar smell means vinegar syndrome. We will still examine the piece and publish its record, but we will not sleeve it or apply a seal until it has been treated by a conservator. Do not seal it in plastic for shipping, and keep it away from your other cels.
