Grading Standards

Condition Grading

Every category we authenticate has its own grading standard. Condition grades are documented on each record and reflected in the certification tier.

Grading is category-specific because what constitutes a defect on a vintage animation cel is completely different from what matters on a sealed whiskey bottle or a first-edition manga. We publish our standards for transparency.

About condition grades. Grades appear on the public record alongside evidence photographs and the authenticator's notes. A grade is an opinion based on the evidence available at the time of assessment — we document exactly what was examined and how.
